Former representative centre Michael Jennings, who has not played since 2020 after being pulled from Parramatta’s line-up, has been granted permission by the NRL to provisionally join the Roosters as he seeks a comeback. Jennings was banned for three years after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug, and he also faced court for assaulting his former wife. The NRL has stated that Jennings can sign a train-and-trial contract with the Roosters, subject to specific conditions. Jennings has an extensive NRL career, having played 298 matches and represented NSW, Australia, and Tonga. In other NRL news, the Roosters have re-signed young forward Siua Wong, while Cronulla has released veteran playmaker Matt Moylan to Super League club Leigh Leopards. The 32-year-old lost his No.6 position to Braydon Trindall towards the end of the 2023 season, and Leigh has confirmed his signing. It is noted that major roster movements can be tracked through the NRL Transfer Centre.
