Novak Djokovic Leads The Way As Four ATP Stars Hit Record $US10m Prizemoney
Novak Djokovic led the way among ATP players, earning almost $16 million in 2023, but did not earn anything from the bonus pool due to not playing in at least three Masters 1000 tournaments.
Despite this, Djokovic was able to reach almost $16 million in prize money for 2023, but his absence from certain tournaments cost him the opportunity to have a share of the bonus pool.
The next three players on the earnings list all managed to hit over $10 million, with Carlos Alcaraz coming in second at just over $15 million, Daniil Medvedev in third at over $11 million, and Jannik Sinner in fourth at over $10 million.
Djokovic’s absence from certain tournaments led to fans expressing their disappointment or being upset at the rules. Additionally, leading coach Patrick Mouratoglou expressed doubts about younger players’ ability to achieve the same level of fitness and success as the “Big Three” (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic).
Mouratoglou also noted that despite being on the comeback trail after injury, Rafael Nadal will still pose a significant threat at the Australian Open.
Overall, it remains to be seen how these developments will impact the ongoing careers of Djokovic and Nadal, but they continue to attract significant attention in the tennis world.
