Indiana Pacers: Setting the Pace and Making the NBA Worried

The Indiana Pacers have been nothing more than a mediocre team content with an opening-round playoff defeat. The team finished 9th, 13th and 11th in the Eastern Conference between 2019 and 2020, leaving many uncertain if they would seek a rebuild or remain in the middle. However, the team traded away Domantas Sabonis for Buddy Hield and Sacramento’s Tyrese Haliburton, a deal which ultimately benefited the Pacers. Indiana has just secured a place in the first-ever semi-final for the NBA In-Season Tournament, displaying a strong offensive performance. Although they have the worst defence in the league, Tyrese Haliburton’s exceptional performance is noteworthy. With his high stats, he is proving to be an all-star and potential superstar. The Pacers are looking good at the sixth seed in the East and may cause a stir in the playoffs. Along with the Thunder and Magic, Indiana is representing new and young teams that are shaking up the traditional playoff favorites while redefining the NBA’s power dynamic.
