Steve Smith’s unexpected exchange to the Australian Test team’s opener is almost certain but the selectors could keep fans and the West Indies guessing on Wednesday when they announce their squad. Although Smith is in favor of opening alongside Usman Khawaja, it is likely that the selectors will not announce it officially yet. With Green replacing retired opener David Warner at the top of the order, Scott Boland and Lance Morris are likely to be included in the squad as backup fast bowlers. The first drop, Marnus Labuschagne, believes that a likely switch in selection will be a perfect scenario, with Steve showing excitement for a new challenge. Labuschagne reckons that Green has the right temperament and skill set to succeed at the No.4 spot, and selectors have been making moves to get the top six batters in the country in the Test team. However, the final squad is yet to be officially announced.
