Snubbed Wallabies Star’s Heartache: How RWC Disappointment Took Him Off the Grid

Jed Holloway recognized that he needed to get off the grid under the night stars in the second week of August. Because the 31-year-old was rejected for the Wallabies’ World Cup campaign, he ran out in front of more than 80,000 at the MCG against the All Blacks, and was shaken. He organized for his young family to travel back to the United States to be with his wife’s family. After not making it into the World Cup squad, he struggled to process his emotions. He went off the grid where the reception is sketchy and went down the south coast to The Farm to surf, drive and try to clear his head. He feels that it is the best thing for him. Holloway does not blame Eddie Jones for not selecting him, he knows he did not put his best foot forward. He is determined to prove some people wrong in 2023. Holloway shapes as a key figure for the Waratahs. He feels like the Waratahs struggled last year and is intent on making a difference. He wants to change the narrative and make a positive impact.
