After off-field incidents and a disappointing 2023 campaign, the last thing the Saints need is any off-field distractions. A peaceful and focused pre-season could be just what the doctor ordered for this often-turbulent club.
Sydney Swans
More goal-kickers
The Swans were too reliant on Lance Franklin for goals in 2023, with the veteran superstar often carrying the weight of the entire forward line on his shoulders. Santa may want to bring the Swans some new goal-kickers to take some of the burden off Buddy in 2024, as the Swans look to re-establish themselves as a true premiership contender after a strong season last year.
West Coast Eagles
Consistency
The Eagles were the very definition of inconsistent in 2023, regularly following up strong performances with bafflingly poor ones. If they could find some consistency in 2024, they might just be able to mount a serious challenge for the premiership. Santa may want to deliver a healthy dose of consistency to the Eagles this Christmas.
